2008 VISION PROGRAM APPLICATION

To be considered for the 2008 Vision Program, please complete the following online application. When the application is complete click the "SUBMIT APPLICATION" button at the end of this form.

There is no way to save progress on this online application. It is highly recommended that you first download a copy of this form before the beginning of the submittal process in order to save your progress. Once you have completed the entire application, cut and paste your answers from the downloaded form to the online application before clicking "SUBMIT APPLICATION" at the bottom of the page. Eligibility Checklist

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

1. Self-identify as Jewish and/or Palestinian.

2. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university in the United States of America.

3. Will be enrolled in and attending class on your main campus for the entire academic year immediately following the Summer 2008 portion of the Vision Program.

4. Understand that if not identified as a need-based applicant, you will be required to contribute up to $2,500 towards the total cost of your participation fees.

5. Able to participate in the entire 2008 summer program which takes place in Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia from June 25 through July 23, 2008.

  • Attending both the fall and spring weekend retreats.
  • Organizing and conducting a presentation in your campus community and submitting a report regarding the event.
  • Organizing and conducting a presentation in your home community and submitting a report regarding the event.
  • Submission of monthly written reflections during the 2008-09 academic year.

Please include the following information in your book review:

  • What are the author's main arguments?
  • What is your analysis of the author's analytical framework and orientation in regard to the topic (i.e., what are the author’s biases, is s/he aware of these biases, etc.)?
  • What questions does the book raise for you with respect to the study and analysis of groups in conflict?
  • What moral questions does the book raise for you?

Part VII. Recommendations

Fill out the fields below then download the Vision Program Recommendation Form and print one copy for each of your recommenders (or have them download and print a copy). Have your recommender complete the form in full and mail it to us directly in a sealed envelope that is signed across the seal with the recommender’s signature.


One recommendation must be completed by an individual familiar with your academic work (e.g., academic advisor, professor, teaching assistant, etc.). The second recommendation must be completed by a person who is a community leader of some kind (e.g., clergy, employment supervisor, local government official, organizational leader, etc.).

All recommendations must be received by 5pm PST on Friday, February 15, 2008.

Part VIII. Funding

Abraham’s Vision will subsidize half of the total expenses related to all aspects of the Summer 2008 Vision Program and all Follow-up activities during the 2008-09 academic year.


Unless deemed to be a need-based participant, student will be required to contribute $2,500 towards the total cost of their participation in the program.

Please include information about current sources of financial support available to you, why you need additional assistance, and how you support yourself throughout the year, in the space provided below.


Be sure to include a 2007 or 2008 FAFSA form as part of the supporting documents you mail with your application.

  • Distributed Recommendation Forms to recommenders and ensured that they will be mailed (in sealed and signed envelopes) to the below address and post-marked by 5PM PST on Friday, February 15, 2008.
  • Requested and mailed sealed official transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended to the address indicated below, post-marked by 5PM PST on Friday, February 15, 2008.
  • If requesting additional financial assistance, mailed copy of 2007 FAFSA to the address indicated below, post-marked by 5PM PST on Friday, February 15, 2008.
  • The online application must be submitted by 5PM PST on Friday, February 15, 2008. We encourage applicants to submit a completed application as early as possible. Applicants do not need to wait for all other materials to be sent before submitting this online application.
  • The Signature Form should be post-marked by 5PM PST on Friday, February 15, 2008 and mailed to the address found below.
  • All supporting documents (2 Recommendation Letters, Signature Form, Official Transcripts, FAFSA) should be post-marked by 5PM PST on Friday, February 15, 2008 and mailed to the address found below.
